AA Plumbing’s Privacy Notice
At AA Plumbing, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web sites. In particular, we want you to know that AA Plumbing is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. It never has and never will be in our interest to do that, however, just in case you don’t believe us, in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
Cookies/Google Analytics Policy:
When someone visits www.aaplumbing.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Who sees your information?
At AA Plumbing we do not share or sell your information to anyone under any circumstances without your express written consent. We will not use your information for our own personal marketing campaigns and will only keep basic information like contact and address information for our current customers where it may serve a purpose for us to do so.
Only people employed by AA Plumbing have access to see personal information and parts of this information is restricted to certain users, for example an engineer can only see you name, address and telephone number but only for an actively open job. Once a job has reached invoicing stage that information in now inaccessible to the engineer but our office staff can now manage the rest of the process.
How long is your information held and for what reason?
Copies of invoices and quotations obviously contain your personal information; these will be kept on our system for accounting reasons for a period of up to 6 years. Invoices once complete and paid will be archived after 1 year in an encrypted database.
Everyone who has had work completed by AA Plumbing is essentially created an account, this will hold your basic personal information for ease of booking in repeat business which makes up 52% of the work we get. Obviously not all of our customers return to us so from this point forward if a customer dose not contact us for a period of 4 years and 2 months (50 Months) we will assume they no longer wish to do business with us and their account/data will be deleted.
What information do we have?
The full list of information we currently hold is listed below, we do not hold any unnecessary information:
- Full name and title of any individuals involved in the work e.g landlords, tenants, managers and directors.
- Full UK addresses.
- Telephone numbers of our customers and contacts.
- Email addresses for the purpose of invoicing, sending quotations and updates regarding ongoing work.
- Credit/debit card information when entered into our website or given over the phone is stored in our credit data handler’s database, the company is called Stripe and they are one of the biggest payment system companies in the world, their own GDPR policy can be found here: https://stripe.com/guides/general-data-protection-regulation
- Company information like company numbers, VAT numbers and bank account details.
Access and changes to your personal information:
Under the new GDPR legislation any person or company has the right to at any point, view, amend or delete their personal information that we hold. Should you have a request to do this please email GDPR@aaplumbing.co.uk with your request and as long as there are no outstanding debts on the account we will fulfil the request in a reasonable time frame.
When will we review this policy?
This Policy will be reviewed once a year at the beginning of the financial year in April. The only exception to this is if something is brought to our attention that needs immediate change or the law is changed.
